Improve the mechanical properties and dimensional stability of a broad range of base polymers.
By addition of glass fibres, glass beads, carbon fibres, carbon nanotubes and minerals.
Also available in combination with improved electrical, thermal and tribology properties.
Available in colour when no carbon additive is used.
Reinforced polymer compounds are used in durable product applications in which strong and stiff materials are required. In these applications polymer compounds are able to replace the conventional construction materials like steel and aluminium. Besides the required strength and stiffness properties polymer compounds have a lower weight and provide greater part design flexibility than metals. In the automotive and transportation industry these mentioned features of polymer compounds are very interesting. Because of their lower weight polymer compounds provide considerable cost savings on fuel costs. Additional the CO2-emission will be reduced which results in a lower environmental impact. And due to the greater part design flexibility also more complex, integrated and aerodynamic parts are possible.
